Accessory to Necessity

This past week my "world" came to a stand still, I almost cried (several times), and I kicked my self for not taking my own advice. Can you guess what happened to me? No...the incident wasn't life threatening; but to someone who has come to know a computer as a necessity of life and not just an accessory, having my laptop crashing this week came pretty close!

How many times can you try to reboot, try to get to safe mode, get to a "blank screen" and reboot again thinking, "It will get there this time, this is not really happening...every shred of data I own is on this hard drive...ahhhh!" Sounds funny now but it wasn't so funny at the time. Thank goodness for partitioned hard drives! Yes I lost all my software and email but had sense enough to save all my data on the second partition so I was able to retrieve it when I had to "gut" my 1st partition during the reboot and rebuild process. What do I do now?---BACK UP MY DATA!!--(Yes, I ignored my own advice and kept putting this operation off, 'cause I had the best laptop in the world that was indestructable....hmmmmm!)

So, now I am trying to rebuild my address book and all the software I lost. I hastily reinstalled Adobe/CS3 so that I could at least have the "bare necessities" over the break. How did I become so dependent on a "gadget"...dear old laptop, I didn't mean this last statement...you are the greatest "accessory" I ever had! LOL!!!
